Bespoke annual review design and publication system for a pan-African development network - where every page had to communicate impact across borders.
PAN South Africa (PAN SA) is a non-profit organisation operating within the pan-African development space. Their annual review is their primary accountability document - shared with stakeholders, partners, and funders across the continent.
We designed the 2025 Annual Review from scratch, creating a custom publication layout that balanced data-driven reporting with compelling visual storytelling. Multiple page iterations were developed to achieve the right balance between institutional credibility and readable engagement.
Annual reviews for development organisations walk a tightrope. Too corporate, and it feels disconnected from the communities served. Too casual, and funders question institutional competence. PAN SA needed a publication that could speak to both audiences simultaneously.
We iterated extensively on the page layouts - some spreads went through 9+ variations before the right balance was found. The design had to accommodate diverse content types: statistical dashboards, project narratives, partner testimonials, and programme photography, all within a consistent visual framework.
